Sadie Olivia Holloway. Seventeen years old.
“You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking how you'll escape one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”

There was something about Sadie Holloway that compelled Jeremy to seek refuge with her. To get away from his own home and spend time with her. Even when he was at his worst she was the only person that had come to spend time with him, although all he was doing was wallowing in self pity. She had sat with him and spent time with him, making him speak to her – open up and reveal what was bothering him. He had appreciated that, she hadn’t have to do that and yet she had. Now after yet another turn he was asking if he could spend time with her, which she had said yes to. Gathering his jacket and wallet from his bed and hesitating. Maybe he shouldn’t take anything when he was heading out for the night but the need was too much for him to ignore.

As much as the beginning of summer had been a drag, it seemed like a lot of things had changed in Sadie’s life. Starting with relationships. She and Marie were patching things up and more surprisingly she started hanging out with Jeremy. Especially in the last week. Lately it seemed like Jeremy was having a tough time and Sadie was trying to be there for him. She never really was the type to talk about her feelings with people she didn’t know that much, but with Jeremy she felt like she could open up and he wouldn’t judge her. Even better, he would give her an honest answer which not many people did. Plus, she genuinely liked hanging out with him. She wasn’t one to listen to other people’s crap, she barely dealt with her own, but when it came to him she didn’t mind it one bit.

Half an hour earlier, Jeremy had texted her to know if he could come over. Obviously something was wrong, so she told him to come. Anyway, her parents weren’t home. They’d left the night before to spend a week at a resort or something, not bothering to take Sadie with them. Typical. Thinking about them, she rolled her eyes and tried to forget about the both of them. It was way to late to deal with her parents issue and she wasn’t in the mood. Hearing a know on her door, she got up from her bed and ran downstairs to open the door.

Brushing a strand of her hair that was bugging her, she opened the door to find a very tired looking Jeremy. A frown appeared on her face as she looked at him. His eyes were crazy red, like he just spend an hour crying, but he was smiling like a crazy person. ”Hey Jer,” she said, moving out of the way so he could come in. ”Are you okay ? You look a little… tired.” Now more than before, it seemed like something was wrong with him and she didn’t want to piss him off the second he came in.
